Christina Coleman

I have had a life-long passion for creating art and have been fortunate to have travelled extensively. I was born and educated in Cambridge and later the Slade School of Art. I have had a  number of exhibitions and gallery sales but now predominantly work to commission. My early influences were from my Danish mother, who inspired me to love the Danish Painters of Skagen. Famous for their portrayal of light and seascapes, they will always take me back to childhood summers in Denmark. I have painted in Zambia, Rwanda, Burundi, Zaire, Cuba and Vietnam (to name a few). In 2000, I spent a year painting with a number of brilliant artists in Stellenbosch before returning to London and then Sussex where I now live with my wonderful husband and three children. My work reflects a range of subjects from commissioned portraits to landscapes and more abstracted triptychs. Mediums include oil on canvas, soft pastels, pencil and charcoal sketches, watercolours and painting on silk.
